Horrible Bosses is a 2011 black comedy film directed by Seth Gordon, written by Michael Markowitz, John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein based on a story by Michael Markowitz, and starring Jason Bateman, Charlie Day, Jason Sudeikis, Jennifer Aniston, Colin Farrell, Kevin Spacey and Jamie Foxx. The main plot follows three friends (portrayed by Bateman, Day, and Sudeikis) who decide to murder their respective overbearing, abusive bosses (portrayed by Spacey, Aniston, and Farrell) who they believe are standing in the way of their happiness.

Did It Suck Movie Review: 2.5 Stars   Time: 1hr 30min‎‎     Rated: 14-A

If you thought you had a horrible teacher in school, look again after seeing this.

Bad Teacher is a 2011 comedy film directed by Jake Kasdan based on a screenplay by Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky, and starring Cameron Diaz, Justin Timberlake, and Jason Segel.

Did It Suck? There is not a lot I need to say about this movie.  Most critics will agree that this was a bad movie and failed to deliver, however, I look at this movie as a cute date movie.  There are some really good parts in this film and I was more then just letting out a few chuckles.  If you liked Legally Blonde and/or the Tooth Fairy you will probably like this movie.  Over all, this movie is only worth renting, Wait For The DVD.

Did It Suck Movie Review: 3.5 Stars   Time: 1hr 42min‎‎     Rated: 18-A

Don’t be silly, I couldn’t happen twice, could it?

The Hangover Part II: Phil (Bradley Cooper), Stu (Ed Helms), Alan (Zach Galifianakis) and Doug (Justin Bartha) travel to Thailand for Stu’s wedding.  Then it happens, ♫ One night in Bangkok makes a hard man humble ♫

Did It Suck? I wasn’t sure if the second movie could pull off the fun and hilarity of the the first film, but it did.  I was quite surprised at how good this movie was for a sequel and I have to say that it was almost as good as the first Hangover.  Sticking to the same formula as the 2009 Hangover, the sequel moves along quickly and keeps you on the edge of your seat waiting to see what could possibly happen next.  For me to justify paying to see a comedy on the Big Screen, it really has to be good.  In saying that, this comedy gets my vote, Worth A Ticket.

Due Date is a 2010 comedy/road movie from Todd Phillips and starring Robert Downey Jr. and Zach Galifianakis. [Full cast here]

Plot: Peter and Ethan (Downey and Galifianakis) get off to a bad start when their cabs collide on the way to the airport, then they get thrown off the plane and have to get across country in just a few days using whatever means they can; sound familiar?  Thinking Planes, Trains and Automobiles?  It certainly does have some similarities but it’s much more up to date and certainly stands on its own “two feet”.  It’s also definitely not a movie for younger kids!

Did It Suck? The comedy is pretty continuous, although the characters are developed nicely and the story is kept at the front the whole time, and you feel for them and want them to do the right thing even when you know they won’t; getting that sort of empathy for your characters is pretty rare.  I would have to say this is one of the funniest movies I’ve seen at the cinema for a long time, it’s a great date movie, and definitely Worth A Ticket.  As a bonus not all the best bits are in the trailer, there is more!

Misguided brain power is a terrible thing to waist

Megamind is a 2010 animated superhero comedy film produced by DreamWorks Animation and Red Hour Productions, and distributed by Paramount Pictures. The film was released in Digital 3D, and 2D on November 5, 2010. It features the voices of Will Ferrell, Tina Fey,Jonah Hill, David Cross and Brad Pitt. The film is directed by Tom McGrath.

Plot: Megamind (Will Ferrell) is a super-intelligent alien who—at the age of eight days old—is sent to Earth by his parents as his home planet is destroyed by a black hole. However, he lands in The Prison for the Criminally Gifted, thanks to another infant alien similarly sent from a different planet who eventually becomes a superhero known as Metro Man (Brad Pitt), defender of the fictional Metro City.

Did It Suck? A generally good paced film with some expected slow parts that children under 9 may lose interest.  There is a lot of fast comedic dialog that will go right over the heads of kids but will cause some good chuckles from the adult viewers.  The cast was well chosen and thought through as they are reflected nicely through the characters.  Although the 3D was good, and filmed for it,  I wouldn’t spend the extra cash unless you have/want to.  Over all the movie was quite good and well Worth A Ticket.  However, though the movie is worth seeing on the Big Screen, it really could have been done much better.  The Incredibles is still number one in my book.

Plot: Jackass 3D is a 3D film and the third movie in the Jackass series. In December 2009, Paramount Pictures and MTV Films announced an October 15, 2010, release.  The movie marked the 10th anniversary of the franchise, which started in 2000. Jackass 3D follows the same premise as the past movies and the television series. It is a compilation of various pranks, stunts and skits, and essentially has no plot.

Did It Suck? Not much to review on this movie.  If you have seen any of the other Jackass movies or TV spots then you know what to expect from this film.  There is a good amount of laughter involved during the painful stunts that take place in this film.  I would have given the move a higher rating, but, paying the extra cash for the 3D did not make this film any better or improve the entertainment value.   Wait for the DVD.

The worst thing that can happen to an Ex secret agent is retirement.

Plot: Red is an action-comedy film based on the comic book limited series of the same name created by Warren Ellis and Cully Hamner, and published by the DC Comics imprint Homage. The film stars Bruce Willis with Robert Schwentke directing a screenplay by Jon Hoeber and Erich Hoeber.  Frank Moses (Willis), a former black-ops CIA agent, is now living a quiet life in retirement. However, he begins to feel lonely with retirement and strikes up a relationship with Sarah (Parker), a customer service agent working for Frank’s pension office in Kansas City. However, his quiet life is disrupted when he is attacked by a hit squad in the middle of the night.

Did It Suck? Unlike some action comedy’s this one uses a simple approach to get the job done making it a very enjoyable film to watch.  There are more giggles then outbursts of laughter during the funny parts in the movie but the tame comedy was done really well and done without trying hard.  The story was great,  smart, well paced and straight-up fun which made-up for a few over-sites.  This film has a nice balance of comedy and action with a good cast and a pretty good story.  The Big Screen ads very little to this movie with only a few good explosions and some gun battles,  however, it is well Worth A Ticket.

The Social Network is a 2010 drama film about the founding of the Internet social networking website Facebook and the resulting lawsuits. The film was directed by David Fincher and features an ensemble cast—Jesse Eisenberg, Andrew Garfield, Justin Timberlake, Brenda Song, Armie Hammer, Max Minghella and Rooney Mara.  In 2003, Harvard University student Mark Zuckerberg has the idea to create a website to rate the attractiveness of female Harvard undergraduates after his girlfriend Erica Albright breaks up with him.

There are cops and then there are, The Other Guys

Plot: The Other Guys is a 2010 action-comedy crime film directed and co-written by Adam McKay. The film stars Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg, and co-stars Dwayne Johnson, Samuel L. Jackson, Michael Keaton, Eva Mendes, Steve Coogan, and Ray Stevenson.

Did It Suck? This was one serious whacked-out movie that kept surprising me with weirder and weirder comedy scenes.  This movie had a lot of  L.O.L. moments including the expected one liners and Ferrell’s usual comic dialog.  What really made this movie funny was how they tied the main story with the unexpected and random comedy bits.    The movie got a little boring close to the end and McKay and Ferrell didn’t have the best chemistry on screen but over all it makes very little impact on the movie as a whole.  As for the action part of this ‘Action Comedy’ movie, you’ll just have to wait until the last parts of the film.  Hands down this was a good comedy, but for most, It’s probably best to Wait For The DVD.

Sometimes big mistakes are good mistakes.

Plot: The Switch, formerly titled The Baster, is a 2010 romantic comedy-drama film starring Jennifer Aniston and Jason Bateman.  Kassie Larson (Jennifer Aniston) decides she wants to have a baby. Despite the objections of her neurotic best friend Wally Mars (Jason Bateman), she chooses to do it alone, with the services of handsome and charming sperm donor Roland (Patrick Wilson). Wally has always had feelings for Kassie, but as his friend (Jeff Goldblum) points out, he missed his chance and she put him in the “friend zone”. But things don’t go as planed (more here).

Did It Suck? As much as I like both of these actors, and seeing Jason Bateman getting more screen time these days, this movie was par at best.  The Acting was good and Jennifer Aniston was much better in this movie than in The Bounty Hunter. Unfortunately the story was lacking, and on top of that, it was a slow paced laid-back movie with a couch-potato feel.  There were some really good funny moments and I enjoyed watching this film but I will only recommend …. Wait For The DVD.
