Did It Suck Movie Review: 5 Stars   Time: 2hr 5min‎‎     Rated: PG

Just because you’re a small fry doesn’t mean you have a small heart.

Captain America: The First Avenger is a 2011 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character Captain America.  It is the fifth installment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.  The film was directed by Joe Johnston, written byChristopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, and stars Chris Evans, Tommy Lee JonesHugo WeavingHayley AtwellSebastian StanDominic CooperNeal McDonoughDerek Luke, and Stanley Tucci.  The film tells the story of Steve Rogers, a sickly man from Brooklyn who is transformed into super soldier Captain America to help the war effort. However, Captain America must stop Red Skull, Adolf Hitler’s ruthless head of weaponry and leader of a terrorist organization, who intends to use a mysterious tesseract energy-source for world domination.

Did it Suck Review: An excellent film right from the start.  This movie is very well directed; it has an easy to follow story line with enjoyable characters through out.  Most of the action is close to the end of the film and well worth the wait.  This is a well rounded movie that is put together nicely.  I enjoyed this film a lot and I’m happy to say that it is Worth a Ticket.

Scott Pilgrim vs. The World

Review:     4 Stars     Rated:     PG     Time: 1hr 53min

We all have baggage but Scotts new girl friend has 7 X’s worth, and stuff.

Plot: Scott Pilgrim vs. the World is a 2010 American action comedy film directed by Edgar Wright based on the comic book series Scott Pilgrim by Bryan Lee O’Malley. The film is about Scott Pilgrim (Michael Cera) meeting the girl of his dreams, Ramona Flowers (Mary Elizabeth Winstead). In order to win Ramona over, Scott learns that he must defeat Ramona’s seven evil exes, who are coming to kill him.

Did It Suck? This was a semi-fast paced and inventive film.  Part comic book adventure, part video game,  and part live action cartoon rolled up into one fun movie, and stuff.   Scott Pilgrim vs. the World is more of a weird silly movie then it is cheesy, yet at the same time, it’s cute and full of laughs.  The supporting characters are quite good and everything seems to fit nicely in the way this movie works.  I really liked the character of Kim (Alison Pill), the girl who plays the drums in the band; I don’t think she blinks through the whole movie.  Overall this film was fun and I felt I got my money’s worth, and stuff.

Final thoughts… I’m sitting on the fence with this movie because even though I really enjoyed this film, the big screen brings very little to it.   I think for most it’s a probably best to Wait For The DVD.  Anyone who enjoys different and silly movies It’s Worth a Ticket.

Iron Man 2

Review:     4 Stars     Rated:     PG

Iron Man is back in this highly anticipated sequel.  Robert Downey Jr., Don Cheadle, Mickey Rourke and Gwyneth Paltrow star in Iron Man 2

Plot: It is the sequel to 2008′s Iron Man, and the second film in the planned trilogy, all of which are, or will be, directed by Jon Favreau.  The first Iron Man finished off with Stark (Robert Downey Jr) revealing his identity as the “Iron Man”.  Currently… Stark is now resisting calls by the United States Government to hand over the technology. The Villain Ivan Vanko (Mickey Rourke) has duplicated the technology and has built weapons of his own.

Did It Suck? Back in 2008 Iron Man set the bar for Super Hero movies.  Iron Man 2 is fantastic and is an excellent follow-up to the first movie, however, it still sits in the shadow of the first one.  Iron Man 2 is a fast paced action adventure Super Hero flick that never lets up, at all.   The movie is like the Energizer Bunny, it never stops moving, the film keeps you from wanting a bathroom break because you just might miss something.

Iron Man 2 is more story then action, however, it never gets dull.  I would have liked to have seen the movie spread out a little better with more action sequences.   I also felt there were a few stupid director decisions  in some of the scenes but they didn’t take away from the movie as a whole.  Over all it was a very good sequel and a most excellent movie.   Worth a Ticket in my book.
