Sometimes the man you’ve been waiting for to step into your life can make things more complicated then your parents.

Plot: Killers is a 2010 action comedy film starring Katherine Heigl, Ashton Kutcher, Tom Selleck, and Catherine O’Hara.  After a break-up with a spontaneous boyfriend, an overly cautious Jen Kornfeldt (Katherine Heigl) travels to Nice France with her parents (Tom Selleck, and Catherine O’Hara) where she meets Spencer (Ashton Kutcher).  Spencer, after meeting Jen, decides to leave his job as a hired killer for a secret government agency.  Three years later Spencer’s old boss contacts him, as only spy’s do, and then bullets start to fly.

Did It Suck? Not a great movie but not horrible either.  The chemistry between Katherine Heigl and Ashton Kutcher was more-less, for a lack of a better word, okay.  Though it was still good enough to make me smile or chuckle throughout the movie.   By far this is a date movie and both guys and girls will probably like it as just that.   It’s a cute and funny movie even though the story is ridiculous and has endless holes and things just happen without regard to why.  Over all I liked this movie because it was fun and I also didn’t feel too bad paying for the ticket, however, as I mentioned this is primarily a date movie so for the rest;  Wait For The DVD.

High heels and pregnant has a new look in The Back-up Plan.  Staring Jennifer Lopez and Alex” O’Loughlin.

Plot: After years of dating, Zoe (Jennifer Lopez) has decided waiting for the right one is taking too long. Determined to become a mother, she commits to a plan, makes an appointment and decides to go it alone. On the day of her artificial insemination, Zoe meets Stan (Alex O’Loughlin) – a man with real possibilities.

Did It Suck? For mothers or expecting mothers and couples this movie has some purpose.  The chemistry between Lopez and O’Loughlin is very good and the film does have some funny moments as expected, however, the story is very dry and lacks the ability to keep the audience entertained.  This movie is quite forgettable so Don’t Bother even renting it.

It’s a game of ‘Cat and Mouse’ in The Bounty Hunter starring Jennifer Aniston and Gerard Butler.

Plot: Milo Boyd (Gerard Butler) is a bounty hunter who gets his dream job when he is assigned to track down his ex—wife for missing her court appearance.  Nicole Hurly, the ex-wife played by Jennifer Aniston, is a feisty reporter willing to do anything to get a story including jumping bail.  Milo thinks it’s going to be an easy job but  Nicole gives him a good run for his money.

Did It Suck? Dog The Bounty Hunter might be something better to watch than to see this movie.  There are not a lot of good things to say about this film as I was increasing disappointed as the movie went on. The only nice thing I can say about this move is that it was cute, more than anything else.  It had some funny moments but the movie fell apart quickly and never recovered.   Wait for the DVD; it won’t be long before it’s on the shelf, but keep in mind, it’s still barely worth renting.

Love stories like Aladdin and Princess Jasmine, and Beauty and the Beast have nothing on She’s Out of My League.  British film director Jim Field Smith and actors Alice Eve and Canadian born Jay Baruchel make us laugh in this romantic comedy.

Plot: The universe of relationships is out of sync and amazing things are happening to a guy named Kirk.  Nice guys don’t finish last in this story as we find a beautiful woman wanting to date this under average guy.  Kirk may be a little scrawny, a little plain, and somewhat of a pushover, but Molly is finding out he’s what she’s been looking for.

Did It Suck? I really enjoyed this movie because it didn’t try to be over ridiculous in trying to get a laugh.  The characters portrayed as Kirk’s family and friends were slightly exaggerated  but not overly done.  The Director does a good job at knowing when to cut off the cheese and when to turn it up.  This was a cute movie and it made me smile, laugh, and feel for our hero in his awkward moments.  If you like to see comedies in the theater then it’s Worth a Ticket, but for everyone else Wait For The DVD.

Ahhh, love is in the air, especially on Valentine’s Day where a bouquet of  lovely film stars, hand picked, washed, and well dressed, can frolic around in this romantic comedy.  Director Garry Marshall known for comedies and love stories gives us his look into Valentine’s Day.

Break-down: Love, romance, and heartbreak are all a part of this story that focuses on several people and their lives over the course of Valentine’s Day.

This movie has a big cast Including Julia Roberts,  Ashton Kutcher, and Jamie Foxx but is, unfortunately a big let-down.  This is not to say that I didn’t smile or laugh when watching Valentines Day, but it was far from any real comedy.  In fact I’m not exactly sure what the main agenda was, or what the story was trying to bring to the audience.  Take out the Valentine’s theme and the movie was really just a big Moorpark.

I liked the idea of this movie, following the different people around, it wasn’t  hard to follow and worked well.  However, it jumped around so much that you didn’t get to know the characters well enough to feel anything for them.   No doubt it will be a good renter so Wait For The DVD.

Rock-out to some Irish music and drink the beer, walk along the old country roads and checkout a castle.  Dance a little, crash a wedding and eat yourself a good’ol hang sandwich.  All this in a little love story called Leap Year

Anna Brady (Amy Adams) is on her way to propose to her boyfriend of 4 years.  An old Irish Tradition or Folklore, allows a woman to propose on Leapday; this is what Amy plans to do, but…… Due to stormy weather Amy is forced off her schedule into an uncharted  adventure with a man she pays to get to her destination, Declan O’Callaghan, played by Matthew Goode.

Watching this movie made me want to go on a vacation with all the beautiful scenery and landscapes shown.  This is truly a romantic movie and never deviates away from its romantic grounds.  It has some good funny and even sad moments.  What I really liked about this film is how inviting and simple it is, yet it could still draw your emotions in with the characters.  This is definitely a date movie and Worth a Ticket for that night out, but Wait For The DVD if you are a cheap date.

The ex-wife is having an affair with her ex-husband who had the original affair when they were together, but, he is now cheating on his new wife with his ex-wife who is now ‘the other woman’, It’s Complicated. A good cast staring: Meryl Streep, Alec Baldwin, Steve Martin and John Krasinski.

In a world of complicated relationships we take a look at a ‘what if’ story between two ex’s  that have been apart for 10 years and then find each other again.  Things look good for the two ex’s until reality creeps in.

I had a good time watching this movie and the crowed seemed to enjoy it too.  I especially enjoyed the rolls of  Steve Martin and John Krasinski.  I think most people will find this movie entertaining and worth a few good laughs, but Wait For The DVD.

I’m happy to say I was quite pleased with this movie, it has a good combination of humor and story.  As far as the funny is concerned, the film goes  just to the borderline of ‘over-the-top’ humor in some scenes,  I found this approach to be refreshing and a nice change.

The Movie has a group of friends agree on a get-away together to a resort called Eden.  The friends/couples agree to journey to this paradise in support for their mutual friends who are having problems in their marriage and can only afford to go on a group rate.  Unknowingly to everyone,  all the couples are forced to take part in the group program or they must leave the island.

I enjoyed this comedy because it put the funniness into plausible situations.  Even with the supporting eccentric characters through-out  story,  the director seemed to place a cap on overdoing unrealistic personality’s and situations just to get a laugh.  This in turn, made the film more ‘true to life’ funny and also relative.  I would also like to say that it’s nice to see Jason Bateman playing in a movie that he can be remembered in.    This is a great date movie and is well worth a ticket.

Can’t quite put my finger on why i liked this film so much,  it’s a cute and quirky boy meets girl movie that jumps back and forth in a 500 day timeline,  yet is easy to follow.

After boy meets girl, the story takes on a rather different love story, or non-love story for at least one party.  It’s a slow movie with a good pace that kept my interest as the story unfolds.

All in all, a good movie, but I’m leaning on… ‘Better as a renter‘.
