Rise of the Planet of the Apes: The film is directed by Rupert Wyatt . It is a reboot of the Planet of the Apes series that will act as a foundation with an origin story for a new film series. Its premise is similar to the fourth film in the original series, Conquest of the Planet of the Apes (1972), but it is not a direct remake in that it does not fit into that series’ continuity.

Did It Suck Movie Review: I wasn’t really sure what to expect from this movie; what I didn’t expect was how good this movie turned out to be.  This is a fantastic film right from the start.  It is a well written story with characters you can connect with.  For the most part this is an action-less film riding on the story and characters which keeps your interest right through to the end.  You add all this up and you get a movie that pushes into the must see category, and with that said, this is definitely Worth A Ticket.

Saddle-up and ride out into the old west where laser guns be a blaze’n

Cowboys & Aliens is an 2011 American science fiction Western/action film starring Daniel Craig, Harrison Ford, and Olivia Wilde. The film, directed by Jon Favreau, is based on the 2006 graphic novel of the same name created by Scott Mitchell Rosenberg, which in turn was an expansion of a Far Side comic by Gary Larson.

Did It Suck Review: This is by far an old west movie with more Cow than Alien.  This was not a horrible film only that it felt like it could have been a “made for TV movie”.  Also,  Joss Whedon might have been some help on this one, when considering his epic Firefly TV series.  What I did enjoy about this movie was it had pretty good representation of the Old West and the story side was really good until the aliens got thrown in to the mix.  It was a good try but I’m going to have to say… Wait For The DVD.

Just because you’re a small fry doesn’t mean you have a small heart.

Captain America: The First Avenger is a 2011 American superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character Captain America.  It is the fifth installment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.  The film was directed by Joe Johnston, written byChristopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, and stars Chris Evans, Tommy Lee Jones, Hugo Weaving, Hayley Atwell, Sebastian Stan, Dominic Cooper, Neal McDonough, Derek Luke, and Stanley Tucci.  The film tells the story of Steve Rogers, a sickly man from Brooklyn who is transformed into super soldier Captain America to help the war effort. However, Captain America must stop Red Skull, Adolf Hitler’s ruthless head of weaponry and leader of a terrorist organization, who intends to use a mysterious tesseract energy-source for world domination.

Did it Suck Review: An excellent film right from the start.  This movie is very well directed; it has an easy to follow story line with enjoyable characters through out.  Most of the action is close to the end of the film and well worth the wait.  This is a well rounded movie that is put together nicely.  I enjoyed this film a lot and I’m happy to say that it is Worth a Ticket.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 is a 2011 fantasy film directed by David Yates and the second of two films based on the novel of the same name by J. K. Rowling. It is the eighth and the final instalment in the Harry Potter film series, written by Steve Kloves and produced by David Heyman, David Barron and Rowling. The story continues to follow Harry Potter’s quest to find and destroy Lord Voldemort’s Horcruxes.

Did It Suck Review: The second part to the Deathly Hallows and last chapter of this fantastic series is what HP fans have been waiting for.  As with part 1, this was an excellent movie.  The overall flow and dynamics of this movie were good.  I am sad and happy at the same time to see this series come to an end, and at the same time, glad to see that the last movie was not a let-down.  Well Worth a Ticket.

Be kind to aliens; you have a much better chance they won’t eat you.

Super 8 is a 2011 American science fiction film written and directed by J. J. Abrams and produced by Steven Spielberg. The film stars Joel Courtney, Elle Fanning, and Kyle Chandler … The film tells the story of a group of children who are filming their own Super 8 movie when a train derails, releasing a dangerous presence into their town.

Did It Suck Review: Leave it to Mr.Spielberg to start a film like it’s a ‘feel good’ kids story, then throw in a monster.   The overall feel to the movie is set in a small town around the Late 70′s early 80′s.  You get a nice overview of the peaceful town, era, and the kids characters from the start of the film.  The train wreak was the highlight of the film, and it was fantastic.  What I really liked was how little effort it took in getting to know the characters and emotionally connect with them; this is what made the movie as good as it was.  I felt I got my moneys worth on this film, however, as good as this movie was, the train wreak was really the only thing worth seeing on the big screen,  Wait For The DVD.

Horrible Bosses is a 2011 black comedy film directed by Seth Gordon, written by Michael Markowitz, John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein based on a story by Michael Markowitz, and starring Jason Bateman, Charlie Day, Jason Sudeikis, Jennifer Aniston, Colin Farrell, Kevin Spacey and Jamie Foxx. The main plot follows three friends (portrayed by Bateman, Day, and Sudeikis) who decide to murder their respective overbearing, abusive bosses (portrayed by Spacey, Aniston, and Farrell) who they believe are standing in the way of their happiness.

Did It Suck Movie Review: 4 Stars   Time: 2hr 35min‎‎     Rated: PG

When you have big robots helping you defend your planet, it’s best not to keep them in the dark about things.

Transformers: Dark of the Moon (also known as Transformers 3) is a 2011 science fiction/action film, part of the Transformers film series, directed by Michael Bay and produced by Steven Spielberg.

Did It Suck? I’m am so glad that this movie didn’t suck.  I felt that Transformers 3 was better then #2 in a few different ways.  What I noticed first off is that the CGI was directed much better then before, including, adding in some slow motion effects and keeping things less shaky.  The other important aspect of this film was it felt like they thought the story out and didn’t try to rush the movie.  The only two things that really disappointed me was, no Megan Fox and not having a longer roll for Ken Jeong.  I did see this movie in 3D, but, didn’t think that it was worth the extra cost.  Worth A Ticket.

If you thought you had a horrible teacher in school, look again after seeing this.

Bad Teacher is a 2011 comedy film directed by Jake Kasdan based on a screenplay by Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky, and starring Cameron Diaz, Justin Timberlake, and Jason Segel.

Did It Suck? There is not a lot I need to say about this movie.  Most critics will agree that this was a bad movie and failed to deliver, however, I look at this movie as a cute date movie.  There are some really good parts in this film and I was more then just letting out a few chuckles.  If you liked Legally Blonde and/or the Tooth Fairy you will probably like this movie.  Over all, this movie is only worth renting, Wait For The DVD.

Green Lantern is a 2011 superhero film based on the DC Comics character of the same name. The film stars Ryan Reynolds as Hal Jordan, with Martin Campbell directing a script by Greg Berlanti and comic book writers Michael Green and Marc Guggenheim, which was subsequently rewritten by Michael Goldenberg.

Did It Suck? Cutting straight to the point, this was a disappointing movie.  It wasn’t a horrible movie, just that it was lacking in many areas, it had all the firework flash with no bang.  I still enjoyed the film but I felt that the movie was rushed, the story had no meat and there was so little background with characters it was hard to make a connection with any of them.  Seeing this movie in 3D is not worth price, and it’s just bearly worth a regular ticket so, Wait For The DVD.

Sometimes it’s hard to choose a side when you see the best of both sides

X-Men: First Class takes you back to the beginnings of Charles and Eric’s friendship and where mutants start to come out of the wood-work.  Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr (James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender), had somewhat normal lives, Pre Professor X and Magneto.  Charles and Eric worked together to help other mutants find their place among the rest of the world.  Charles and Eric’s close friendship starts to become strained when they discover that they have different ideas on the coexistence of mutants and humans.

Did It Suck? Lots of talk and little action in this movie but it was done well.  Having common knowledge of the X-men is a must if you are going to enjoy this film.  The films focal point surrounds the lives and friendship of Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr (James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender) before they became Professor X and Magneto.  The movie already had a solid script to go on being a well published comic.  What I was interested to see was how well the actors took to their characters.  I am happy to report that this was a fantastic X-man movie, and arguably, probably the best of the series.  If your not an X-man fan then this movie is not for you.  As much as I liked this movie, and felt I got my monies worth, I have to say Wait For the DVD.  There is nothing you will miss seeing it at home.
