G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra

Review:     3 Stars

Surprisingly Fun Movie, some poor CGI effects, but, overall it was a good fast paced movie with lots of action.  I didn’t feel too bad paying to see it in the theatre.  It would make a good renter,  nothing to spectacular that you will miss from the big screen.

More of a renter then anything,  but it was still a fun movie.

Oh wow! PAINFUL!! Bad CG, (and that’s being nice), sub-par plot line, over-all bad acting. In a nut shell, the Baroness and Scarlett (Scarlett especially for me) made watching somewhat more bear-able.

If you ever watched G.I. Joe as a kid in the ’80s, don’t expect this to do you any favors as far as reminding you why the cartoon was so good.

The rivalry between Snake-eyes and Shadowstorm was kinda cool though, and well laid out throughout the movie so we understand why they fight each other more often than not.

Also, it could have been explained A LOT earlier in the movie why Snake-eyes never says anything. Instead, the director’s see fit to make us wait until the last 15 or so minutes before telling us why Snake-eyes is silent. Thanks for dropping the ball on that one guys!

In a nutshell: think Michael Bay’s “Transformers 2″, with more gun-fire, two ninjas in place of robots, and you pretty much have this one.

Save it for one of those “I-don’t-know-what-to-rent-cause-I’ve-seen-everything-else” nights where you really can’t find anything else – or, you plan on being drunk and want a good laugh.

Remember kids, say “No” to drugs and bad acting.
