All of our Critics have various backgrounds and have all seen at least one movie.  As said in the ‘About This Site‘ the Did It Suck Critics are just average Joe’s and Jane’s that love movies.  They all have something to contribute, not because they all have a film degrees or are actors, but because their not.  OK, enough small talk and lets get on to why you’re on this page.

Dan Kersey

Hi everyone, thanks for coming to Did It Suck. I’m the guy behind the idea and concept of this site, powered by talented friends in the Social Media Industry.  This site has been a long time coming for me, and I hope you enjoy this site for what it’s intended for …  to help the average movie patron save their money or spend it wisely.

I have over 15 years of background in the IT industry which started out primarily in the computer hardware sector building, repairing and selling PCs. Over the past 15 years my skill-set has progressed further into a professional career in which I established my own successful business providing on site and remote support for computer repairs, networking, sales and more.  In some ways this website is an extension of my business in providing customer support.

I have always enjoyed movies, but not only for their entertainment value.  Movies can provide an artistic way of telling a story in many different forms.   Movies can take you to places where only the imagination lives.

I wanted to provide a website service that made sense, a service that helps people by providing a realistic view when it comes to movies.  This is where the main concept of ‘Was It Worth a Ticket’ comes into play. Movie prices aren’t getting any cheaper and people want to get their money’s worth of entertainment out of every penny they spend at movies.

Dan told me I had to write something about myself, so here it is.  I’m 39, a Brit but been in Victoria for over 6 years now and am loving it.   I’ve been a movie fan (or movie whore as some would call me) all my life, and if I see a movie once and enjoy it I’ll likely remember scenes and lines from it for years.  I used to own over 1200 videos in the UK and have around 400 DVDs now.  I watch all genres of movies, although Horror and Sci Fi are my favourites.

Dan and I used to work together and when he got around to setting up the site it was a pretty natural fit for us both that I’d do some of the reviews.  Dan and I tend to see a lot of the movies together and discuss our opinions before the reviews are written and while we agree most of the time there are a few on which we’re agreed to differ.
