Putting Salt onto a wound really makes things…explode!

Plot: Salt is a 2010 American action-thriller film directed by Phillip Noyce, written by Kurt Wimmer and Brian Helgeland, and starring Angelina JolieLiev Schreiber, and Chiwetel Ejiofor. Jolie plays Evelyn Salt, who is accused of being a KGB sleeper agent, and goes on the run to try to clear her name

Did It Suck?
Salt is pretty much a pure action movie and unlike many other movies it doesn’t try to be anything else.  We follow Evelyn Salt (Angelina Jolie), a CIA agent being pursued by her colleagues Ted Winter (Liev Schreiber) and Peabody (Chiwetel Ejiofor) after she is outed as a Russian agent by a possible defector.  The movie rocks along with chase after chase and hardly gives you chance to breathe between the action sequences.
This may be one of the best roles that Angelina has played; I may be in the minority here, but I’ve never been overly impressed with her acting before, but she really shone in this movie, playing her multi-faceted character superbly well.  There are only two other major characters in the movie, mentioned above, and their backup to her role was very strong making the entire movie much more enjoyable.  Some of the action sequences were definitely a little too ‘out there’ to be even vaguely plausible but they didn’t detract from the movie that much, and in most of the sequences where Angelina was taking down any number of guards you could believe it to be true.  I really liked the movie, it’s been a while since I saw an action movie as good as this, and it even managed to surprise me with a twist near the end.  I think this is worth seeing on the big screen and would rate it Worth a Ticket, I was certainly not disappointed and would even consider seeing it again.
